Tom Hanks-2-1024x767Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was born on the 9th of July, 1956. He is an American actor, filmmaker, and director. Famous for his comedic and dramatic roles, he's one of the most well-known and well-known film stars in the world and is widely regarded as an American popular culture icon. Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was a Concord, California native to Janet Marylyn Hanks, a hospital worker and Amos Mefford Hanks an itinerant cook. His mother, initially referred to "Fraga" was from born into a Portuguese family. His father was mainly English. Tom was raised in what he has called a "fractured" family. He had no experience acting in college and credits his inability to be cast in a college production with starting his career. He went downtown, and tried to audition for a local theatre production, and was asked by the director of the show to visit Cleveland where the beginning of his acting career took off.
